This 10-week weight management program for families helps everyone in the family—kids, teens, parents—reach and maintain a healthy weight. Led by registered dietitians, it offers intensive education on research-based strategies for weight loss, behavioral change techniques, training on innovative self-monitoring tools, and guidelines for physical activity. Each member of the family will get an individualized nutrition plan, have a body composition analysis, and establish individual weight goals. Some of the program’s highlights include guidelines for reading food labels; a supermarket tour; menus and recipes; and taste testings. Enrollees also receive a copy of the book “Losing Weight Permanently with the Bull’s-Eye Food Guide” written by Stony Brook’s Assistant Clinical Professor of Family Medicine Dr. Josephine Connolly Schoonen, RD.

• Cost for the 10-week series is $210 for both parent and child.

• Teens, kids and parents meet separately.
