You Can Make a Difference

As much as a children’s hospital helps the community, it also relies on the community for support. There are dozens of ways you can get involved — below are a few that can make a real difference for the hospital, patients and families.  If you have additional questions, please call our Advancement office at (631) 444-1091.

Make a Monetary Donation to Stony Brook Children’s Hospital

Financial donations can help the hospital purchase vital equipment, support new programs, fund groundbreaking research, attract best-in-field physicians and support the hundreds of other ways Stony Brook Children’s cares for the health of our community’s children. Community Events

Our supporters – individuals, schools, businesses and charitable organizations — have done everything from participating in walk-a-thons, health fairs and golf outings, to crafting their own fundraising events. Take the first step by clicking here.

Change for Children

With this initiative, children across Suffolk County, either individually or through school-wide efforts, collect spare change from family and friends to benefit Stony Brook Children’s. This win-win program not only helps fund key Children’s Hospital needs, but it also teaches our children that even the smallest efforts can make a huge difference.

Partner Programs

Frequently, local businesses will donate a percentage of their sales or the proceeds of a special event to the hospital. We encourage you to support these businesses — or consider partnering with us on an initiative of your own.

Point of Sale Program Point of Sale Program is where the consumer is asked to donate a dollar at the point of check-out/transaction in support of Stony Brook Children’s.

Percentage of Sale Program Percentage of Sale Program is where a company pledges to donate a percentage of its sales for a specified time period to benefit Stony Brook Children’s.

Support Child Life Services

Child Life Services is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of patients and families during a hospital stay. Ways you can give include:

  • Money. Your financial gift can be used to help families with children in the hospital to pay for parking and meals. For information on how to give a financial donation to our Child Life Program, call (631) 216-3636.
  • Toys, crafts or supplies. New toys, crafts, games, sleepwear and supplies are always needed and much appreciated by our young patients. To make it as easy as possible for you to donate, visit our wish list on Amazon. Or, if you prefer to purchase items locally, view our Guidelines and Frequently Asked Questions.
  • Entertainment or special guests. Special visits from entertainers, sports teams, community leaders and education performers can bring big smiles to our pediatric patients’ faces. If you would like to make or sponsor a special visit, please read the Special Guests and Entertainment Guidelines.
