Stony Brook Children's Allergy & Immunology photo

Stony Brook Children’s utilizes IMMUNOCAP (blood) tests and prick puncture skin tests for the evaluation of food and environmental allergies. Pulmonary function testing is often utilized for children with asthma. Evaluation of the immune system often involves blood tests to screen the various compartments of the immune system. In-office food challenges are performed to evaluate loss of food allergies.

Antibiotic skin testing and/or in-office antibiotic oral challenge are also performed to evaluate children with a history of antibiotic allergies.
