Stony Brook Children’s utilizes IMMUNOCAP (blood) tests and prick puncture skin tests for the evaluation of allergies. Pulmonary function testing is often utilized for children with asthma. Evaluation of the immune system often involves blood tests to screen the various compartment s of the immune system. In-office food challenges are performed to evaluate loss of food allergies.
