Dr. Chesler and Dr. Egnor are the only board-certified pediatric neurosurgeons in Suffolk County. There are only 278 in all of North America. Both Dr. Chesler and Dr. Egnor use advanced surgical techniques and minimally invasive endoscopic techniques to minimize blood loss and trama and complications and help children get back to their lives sooner. Patients have access to the full complement of other pediatric specialists and subspecialists at Stony Brook Children’s Hospital. These include neuroradiologists and neurointerventional radiologists, pediatricians, pediatric intensivists, pediatric oncologists, radiation oncologists, pediatric nurses, child-life specialists and social workers.
